June Rayburn (she/her/hers) is a limited licensed social worker in Michigan who practices under the supervision of Rise co-director, Jen Burke, LMSW. June began her education with an Associate of Child Development, which included extensive experiential learning in preschool and elementary classrooms. June went on to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan. Desiring to join her passions for early childhood and mental health, June completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan, with special focus on interpersonal practice for children and families. Her goals as a social worker are to uplift children, families, parents, and communities through early intervention and meaningful mental health services.
June has worked in a variety of settings such as classrooms, educational and community programming, and home-visiting. She has provided clinical services to children with behavioral and emotional challenges such as aggression and attachment issues. With children, June utilizes Play Therapy and Attachment-Based Therapy with the belief that the bond a child has with their caregivers is essential and that play is the natural way a child interacts and communicates.
June feels her therapeutic role is to strengthen this bond through modeling developmentally appropriate communication, emotional coping skills, and engaged presence.
June also works with adults on their parenting journey, with special emphasis on attachment work and trauma processing.
